What have you noticed?
Is the inspection really free?
Yes. You pay nothing for it, and you don't have to hire anyone afterward. And if the house turns out fine, that's worth knowing too.
Are you a contractor?
No. We're a referral service, and we say so openly. We put you in touch with a local foundation repair professional. Any payment runs from that professional to us, never from you; the referral marketing disclosure has the details.
What will a repair cost me?
The number of piers drives the price more than anything, and that depends on your house. Published prices vary a lot. One Texas company lists $350 to $700 a pier, by type. Another lists about $1,000 to $3,000. The cost guide lines up each published price and shows what makes one bid higher than another.
Will I need a permit?
Usually, and each town has its own rules. Round Rock has a foundation repair permit with a $125 fee. Georgetown's published fee is $50 plus a $10 technology fee. Brushy Creek, outside any city, has no city permit at all. Our permits guide covers each town.
Will an engineer be involved?
In Round Rock and Georgetown, yes. Both want plans stamped by an engineer before they issue the permit. Both also want an engineer's report at the end. Elsewhere it depends on the town and the job.
Not sure who to ring first? See engineer or repair company: which comes first.
Does the Edwards Aquifer affect my repair?
It might, if your house is over the recharge zone. On the state's map, that covers 92% of our Georgetown sample and 40% of Round Rock's. The clay towns to the east, such as Hutto and Manor, sit outside every zone. Our Edwards Aquifer guide explains the rules and what's still unclear.
What should I tell you when I call?
Tell us what you've noticed and roughly when it started. Add the town or ZIP code of the house, your name and a number to call back. Everyday words are fine.
Can I call if nothing looks wrong yet?
That's a fine reason to get in touch. Our foundation crack repair page explains how to tell a cosmetic crack from one worth measuring. Still unsure? A free inspection gives you an answer in one visit.
