What These Pages Are
Everything on this site is general reading, written for people who own homes in and around Round Rock and want to know what makes a foundation shift. You'll find the local soil, the rules in force and the usual price of repairs. Reading it is not the same as having a trained eye on your own house.
What We Are
Round Rock Foundation Repair Co. puts homeowners in touch with foundation repair professionals nearby. Inspecting, engineering and repairing are not things we do. The professional is a separate company, and any deal for work is made directly with them.
About the Prices
The price ranges on this site come from figures posted online by repair companies that serve the Austin and Round Rock area. A note next to each range says where it came from. We describe those companies and leave their names out. No range here is a quote for your house.
Your own bill turns on your soil, on how far the house has shifted, on your town's permit rules and on which professional does the work.
About the Soil, Aquifer, Permit and Census Numbers
The USDA soil survey is our source for soil, and the US Census for the age of homes. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's map gives the Edwards Aquifer zones. Permit and watering rules are taken from papers published by each city or water supplier. Each figure carries its source, in plain words.
Keep in mind that a soil survey speaks for an area. Only a licensed engineer's soil report speaks for your lot. The same goes for the aquifer map: treat it as a first look, and ask the agency to confirm where your property falls.
About Watering Rules
Drought stages shift, and watering limits shift with them. We report each rule as it stood on the day we read the supplier's page. Ask your water supplier for today's stage before acting on it.
